3 new year resolutions for Quality Management professionals in 2025

New year, new quality management goals!

But while you’re setting document approval time objectives and other KPIs for the Quality department, don’t forget to focus on your team’s professional development and overall success too.

Need some inspiration to get started? Check out these three goals for quality management professionals looking to grow their networks, resources, and knowledge in 2025.

1. Get involved in quality management events

Even if you don't grow your Quality team in 2025, you can grow your Quality network. This year, commit to creating valuable connections in the life sciences space by making time for quality conferences and networking events. There are plenty of opportunities for quality pros to come together, but these are a few of our favorites happening in 2025:

  • RAPS Global Regulatory Strategy Conference | March 11 - 12, 2025 | Baltimore, MD: The RAPS Global Conference is the perfect opportunity for quality leaders to stay on top of the latest regulatory requirements – important for building a well-rounded, sustainable QMS.
  • KENX Validation University | March 26 - 27, 2025 | Philadelphia, PA: It’s critical for quality management pros to understand validation… but that’s sometimes easier said than done. The KENX Validation University brings life sciences industry leaders together to share the latest tools for CSA, continuous validation, and everything in between.
  • SQA Annual Meeting & Quality College | April 6 - 11, 2025 | Orlando, FL: With this annual event, SQA brings together over 800 quality assurance professionals to share challenges, best practices, and trends in GCP, GLP, GMP, pharmacovigilance, scientific archiving, computer validation, and more.
  • ASQ World Conference on Quality & Improvement | May 4 - 7, 2025 | Denver, CO: Find out how quality pros in manufacturing, biopharma, consulting, government, and more are using new tools and quality procedures to meet modern compliance challenges in the life sciences industry at ASQ’s WCQI event.
  • Quality Leaders Forum | Ongoing | United States: Our ongoing QLF series brings together quality leaders from biopharma, CMOs, CROs, and more for networking, workshops, and panel discussions around the latest quality management challenges and emerging trends. P. S. The ZenQMS team will be at both SQA Annual Meeting & Quality College and the ASQ World Conference on Quality & Improvement. If you’ll be there too, let us know here – we’d love to connect!

2. Get better quality management tools

This is the year to get the quality management tools your team deserves. Check out these guides to help figure out which quality management software is right for your organization, plus how to convince leadership to invest in your team:

3. Seek out continuing education opportunities for quality management

You can’t have continuous improvement without continued learning. Whether you resolve to earn a new certification this year or simply set aside more time to tune into webinars and read through industry reports, it’s always a good idea to stay current with quality management best practices. Here are a few resources to consider:

  • ASQ Quality Auditor Certification: Why should Quality professionals earn an auditor certification? The better you understand what an auditor is looking for, the better you can prepare when your own organization is up for review. Plus, you’ll find ways to improve your own vendor evaluations and even your internal quality audits.
  • eQMS University - Reporting on Quality KPIs and Metrics: Learn which quality metrics your team should track, plus the best ways to report on quality management data to leadership in this educational webinar with VP of Quality & Regulatory Affairs Sandy Hedberg.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification: This certification proves an individual is an expert in the Six Sigma methodology, a formalized approach used to improve quality processes in organizations.
  • Quality Engineer Certification (CQE): The CQE recognizes a professional’s expertise in managing quality systems, diagnosing quality issues, maintaining quality standards, and more. This certification is especially helpful for anyone aiming for a leadership role in the near future.
