Resources to prove the ROI of Quality Management in 2025

Quality management teams typically don’t think in terms of “ROI.” Compliance, regulatory standards, product integrity, consumer safety – these are the things that top their list of priorities (for good reason).

But because Quality leaders don’t naturally draw a clear line from their activities to the business’s bottom line, they often get labeled as “cost centers,” not revenue generators.

Why does this matter?

Because the departments that can articulate their value as a business asset usually find it easier to get budget for the tools and resources they need. The CFO would never be asked to host a financial audit with just pen and paper. A new Chief Revenue Officer never doubts they’ll get the CRM software they need to manage the sales pipeline.

Unfortunately, budget holders often ask Quality teams to make do with tools not specifically built for their quality management activities (think Excel, Sharepoint, a RIMS platform, etc.).

But Quality teams do provide measurable value to their organizations. Whether it’s helping win a new Sponsor partner by proving a low tolerance for risk, or avoiding costly manufacturing delays from an audit observation, there’s a clear ROI from quality management activities.

With the right quality management software, these teams can drive even more value. It’s simply up to the Quality department to show it.

We get it, that’s another one of those “easier said than done” things. That’s why we curated tips and insights from other Quality leaders in the field who have learned how to collaborate with leadership, showcase the value of quality management, and get buy-in for the resources they need:
